Service pack 16 has arrived for SureDrop. In this service pack we have a number of great new features.
Support for large numbers of users
In this release we now support an almost unlimited number of users per instance. So if your organization has 100 users or 100,000 users, a single instance of SureDrop can support them all.
You’ll see these changes in the admin user management screen and in the sidebar of the front page.
In the admin screen you will now need to search for users instead of all of the users showing up at once.

There are also changes in the sidebar on the main screen.
Pinned users
Instead of all of the users in the group showing up in the sidebar, only those users which you have pinned will now show up. This means that you can notify the people that you work with closely more easily.
To pin/unpin users from your sidebar in a group as well as to manage the users in the group, select the Manage Group Members link in the sidebar.

From here you can manage which users in the group you would like to pin to your sidebar, as well (If you are an Administrator) you can remove group members from the group or change the group owner.

Notifying users
To support the changes we have made with pinned users, we now have an extra option when notifying users.
You can now choose to:
- Notify all of the users in the group
- Notify all of your pinned users in the group
- Notify just the selected pinned users

Icon changes
We have changed the icons in various places to give better visual cues.
In the groups sidebar we now show different icons depending if you are:
- The owner of a group
- A member of a group

We have also refreshed the icons throughout SureDrop with the latest version from the folks at Font Awesome!
Support for the mobile app
In this release we have also implemented new API’s and functionality to support our new mobile app.
The biggest feature that you will find in the mobile app is the introduction of resumable uploads.
These work a little differently than you would expect, in that we don’t upload any files (or parts of files) which have already been uploaded before, either by you or someone else withing the same group!
This means that if your 10TB upload failed for some reason halfway through, then when you try to upload the file again, it will skip through the first half of the file to where your upload failed. It doesn’t matter when it failed or how many days later you attempt it again! (Or even if a different person tried to upload it again!)
Unfortunately we haven’t implemented this functionality into the web client yet, only the mobile app, so if you are uploading large files on a regular basis, or just uploading files, then we recommend that you download the app and try it from there.

The app is available for the following platforms:
- Windows PC’s and Laptops
- Mac Laptops and iMacs
- IPhones
- Android Phones
Look for the app on the relevant platform app store and search for SureDrop
